I have tried multiple times with the Manager to load Speckle onto AutoCAD. The connector is not showing under the Add-Ins tab. Please help.
After installing with Manager, do you see the addon bundles at %APPDATA%\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins ?
Manager, by default, installs as a single user. Are you on a machine where a user profile is blocked from installing, but an admin user is not?
I was able to use NETLOAD and force it following this community post - AutoCAD connector not appearing in Adds-in tab
Thanks for reporting your success @David_Messner . Nevertheless, I have looked into this a little, as while this is only the second report resolved this way in two years, it suggests a machine-specific issue; it clearly could be affecting users who don’t bother to report.
Either:
- AutoCAD Didn’t Detect the Plugin in ApplicationPlugins (running PLUGINSorAPPLOADmight reveal something or at least confirm negative
- If Speckle is the only plugin you have, then perhaps the ApplicationPluginsisn’t in the Trusted Paths - this seems unlikely, butTRSUTEDPATHScould confirm
- If SECURELOADis set to1or2it may have been blocked - again seems unlikely but can be checked
- Might you have tried installing Speckle in the pas,t and there is a remnant in the plugins folder causing self-conflicts - unknown, but easy to check
BUT - you have Speckle working so only check any of these things if you feel like feeding back, I don’t want to burden you with unknown work.
