Hi,
Everything is in the title: the Receive
part of Revit Connector takes quite long: see example below.
Am I missing something?
Here’s my setup:
- Revit 2025
- Revit Connector by Speckle 2.21.5
Thanks in advance!

Hey @Quentin,
Would you mind sending me a URL to the Speckle project you’re trying to recieve from (if possible)? And what is your intended / desired workflow?
Hi Björn thanks for the quick reply.
Here’s the link but i suspect you may not have access (if you can give me your mail address in DM i may be able to give you access).
For the intended workflow this is a good question. Mainly, the idea is, i have a rhino.compute
server running. We have users that access a webapp and generate models with their inputs, by sending Grasshopper solutions to our compute server. For now, users can export data (IFC? DWG) but this is not enough: we’d like them to be able to load their configured models in Revit directly (and other softwares).
We have a few issues to tackle before we get there:
Hope it’s clear, please let me know if it is not!
@Quentin, I have invited you to a project, but only you and the Speckle team will have access. If you can upload the problematic data to a model there… https://app.speckle.systems/projects/6914fb5c05
Hi Jonathon,
Thanks for your reply. I pushed a model with different versions (consisting in more or less cubes).
Testing only with the latest version you sent to the test model - this receives in just a few seconds so I don’t experience “extremely long receive”
Could you elaborate the circumstances that consistently cause that delay?
Weird, are you opening it in Revit 2025 as well? Also i see it didn’t seem to load the walls , which should be here (dont mind the fact it’s not full, the loading was still ongoing)…
It does take very long on my side, several minutes.
Here are my settings (i left the default ones)
Is there anything else you need to know?
Ah, I got it - there are BIM Schema objects from Grasshopper, and using v2, I received it at total face value.
Just so you know, in the first GH file i had a remaining GeometryGym component that is impossible to delete.
I created a new GH file copy pasted all components but the GG one, created a new model in the same project and sent a stream to this model. The loading time is equally long in Revit so component from GG doesn’t seem to have any impact
What do you have in mind in mentioning this?
Hi @jonathon, i didn’t get from your answer if there’s anything i can do to speed up the process?
