I vote for AchiCAD. It should have been in the top list as well.
Absolutely Archicad. from a professional architect’s perspective, this should have been done before sketchup.
Any assembly modeler (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.). AEC is desperately lacking tools to connect design to fabrication/manufacturing. See Autodesk “Informed Design” is maybe the closest idea out there currently.
What’s the workflow you had in mind? Let’s say you had a Solidworks/Inventor connector today. What’s one thing you can do that you can’t currently?
Have a low LOD model in Revit of a building element (say a metal balcony, or stair, facade panel, etc.), then have the ability to push that into SW. Use could then detail the object in SW, then push the high LOD model back into Revit for coordination. Basically facilitating a design → fabrication workflow.
Hey @here and others voted in the poll,
Thanks to your votes in the above poll, over 60% of you have chosen Archicad as the next connector you wanted to see—so we listened!
We’re excited to announce that the next-gen Archicad connector is already in the works and will be available as part of our next release!
Want to be the first to try it out? You can download next-gen connectors and stay ahead of the curve: releases.speckle.systems/v3
Stay tuned!!
Nice to see the interest from AC users and the swift work for the speckle team - keep up the good work!
Just a suggestion, would be great to be able to have frames and window in separated layers.
Vectorworks would be very helpfull
Hi, is point cloud supported in this new conector from Revit. It didnt work for me.
Regards
God shout! We’re just having an IRL sprint in London and maybe we can squeeze this in, as it should be easy enough to do cc @oguzhankoral @clrkng
@gjordanp are you looking to send pointclouds from Revit, or receive them? We don’t currently support sending linked models from the new Revit beta connector, so if your pointcloud is in a linked model it won’t send
Hi Claire, Im looking to send from Revit.
Yes it is a link model.
¿Is there any other way to work with point cloud in Revit?
As far as I know thats the only way.
¿Does previous conector allow to send point clouds?
Best Regards
Found the issue! Was a simple fix, and will be available with the next release of beta connectors (soon):
Yes, it does - you can use the legacy connector if you need this imminently, otherwise the new version should be out within the week
Unity please!
Side note, if I send from the updated connector in Revit, will I still be able to receive with the Unity infrastructure? Or do I now have to wait until this is added?
Thanks!
Hey @here,
If you haven’t heard the news from SpeckleCon😉, we just released 3 more next-gen connectors. Archicad, Tekla and Civil3D have now been released as part of the open-beta🥳. (Here’s @dogukan 's announcement post for Tekla connector)
Download next-gen connectors today and let us know what you think. Your feedback is invaluable.
You asked, we listened. Which app we should support next?
Unreal engine plz!!!
That would be super helpful
Hahaha …
but I said Blender Vectorworks, Bricscad and Twinmotion/Unreal
If only there were more of you Zoomer !
