📢 Next-Gen Tekla Structures Connector

Hey Specklers! :tada:

Exciting news - the Tekla Structures Next-Gen connector is now available for 2023 and 2024 versions! For now it supports send-only reference geometry workflow, but we’re really looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Your feedback will help shape our future developments and roadmap.

Download it here and let us know what you think! :muscle:

very impressive! work!

Some questions came to my mind
In case sending data from Tekla to Revit, in which category it will be received inside Revit?
Is it possible to send back from Revit to Tekla?

many thanks

Hey @rebalj,

Thank you for your interest.

As part of our next-gen connectors, our biggest drive is data extraction and making your data available to you. Currently, when transferring models from Tekla to Revit, they will be imported as generic models. We plan to expand this capability in future updates, which is why user feedback is valuable to us.

Could you share your specific workflow requirements with us? This would help us better understand your needs.

interesting, but i have an opinion. how to auto create connections on speckle then transfer them to revit?

Hi @Hi_p_Nguy_n_Van,

Thank you for the feedback. Could you give some more info about the workflow you described?

that’s great!

I Believe for architects when importing models from Tekla it would be great to document clean geometry. no additional mesh lines, assigning colors or categoris to elements similiery to speckle mapper, i know it’s still WIP but i am excited to test soon

many thanks

Could I ask a bit about the mesh optimisation part, @rebalj? This is slightly off-topic, but we’re considering a Speckle Automate facility that does some mesh cleanup no matter where the data comes from, as host applications all have their own mesh interpolation algorithms to a better or worse extent.

If a simply configurable universal tool existed—for Tekla—can you describe more the pain points you have with mesh data and which applications it would be used in?
