3.0 connector upload by selection/view/etc

  • Objective: upload only part of a Revit model to Speckle server, which seems to be possible based on Speckle doc site: Sending | Speckle Docs

  • Issue: The 3.0 Revit connector doesn’t seem to have such options?

  • Do these feature exist for 3.0 connector and I’m not looking at the right place?

  • Should the project team downgrade to 2.0 speckle manager?

  • Are this features coming to 3.0 Revit connector?

Thank You!

Hey @warm-july ,

Our Revit connector does support three different methods of publishing:

  • By Selection
  • By Category
  • By View

You can access these filters from this dropdown menu:

Our documentation is not yet up to date. We’ll release new documentation at the end of this month.

A post was split to a new topic: Revit not sending, Navisworks crashing

Hi Mucahit,

Thnx for the reply, we have since tried by selection / by category and by view, it looks like maybe it starts to fail when we are dealing with linked Revit models, large curtain wall and other similar types of objects, can you shed some lights on that? Thank you

Hey @warm-july!

We would need a bit more information on the nature of the “fail” to help.

Things like:

  • Is the model being published or are you getting an error when trying to publish?
  • Are objects missing in the viewer / is the model in the viewer different to what you expected?
  • What version of Revit are you using and what version of the next-gen connector do you have installed?

Furthermore, the log txt file in your %APPDATA%/Roaming/Speckle/Logs/Revit 20xx would be helpful if you wouldn’t mind attaching that too (the logs are stamped with the date).

Happy to assist and help further :cool_spockle:
