Hi @community,
To be ready for June 1 we’re restructuring our support forums so that “legacy v2” and “next-gen” discussions each have their own dedicated categories. Here’s the plan:
What’s Changing
-
“Help” → “Help (legacy v2)” All existing threads under the current “Help” category will be moved here.
-
“Help ”
Discussions about our next-generation platform will now live in the top-level help category. -
“Help – Self-Hosted” for installation, configuration, and ops questions from on-prem customers.
-
“Help – Developers” remains as-is for API, SDK, and integration questions.
Your Subscriptions & Bookmarks
- Any topic you’ve bookmarked or subscribed to in “Help” will automatically follow to “Help (legacy v2)”.
- You don’t need to re-subscribe or update bookmarks to keep getting notifications.
- Optional: If you only care about next-gen or self-hosted discussions, you can adjust your subscriptions now to the new categories.
Please note: during the migration you may receive extra notifications as threads move categories. Apologies for any interim noise and thanks for bearing with us!
Ongoing Support Focus
We’ll continue to be the most responsive AecTech forum of our size, but v2 support will now focus only on:
- Critical bug fixes
- How-to guidance for existing workflows
There will be no new v2 features and no fixes for minor bugs—those efforts are all moving into “next-gen.”
Why We’re Doing This
- Clear separation between legacy-v2 and next-gen issues
- Dedicated spaces for developers vs. end-users vs. self-hosters
- Better visibility so questions get routed to the right experts faster
What To Do Now
- Nothing urgent—your existing subscriptions/bookmarks will continue working.
- If you’d like, head over to the new Help (next-gen) or Help – Self-Hosted categories and subscribe.
- Drop any questions or concerns below, and we’ll help you out.
Transition Timeline
Many of you in the OG Speckle community, will remember that the v1 category stuck around for a long time to help everyone transition smoothly. We plan to do the same here: the Help (legacy v2) category will remain available for an extended period—so you can continue to get critical fixes and how-to guidance at your own pace.
