Speckle tab not visible in the ribbon in Revit 2024

Dear Community

I am a new user of Speckle and trying to work in Revit 2024 and 2026 versions.

I have installed Revit Connectors for both my versions (Revit 2024 and Revit 2026).

Revit 2026 works find and Speckle Ribbon menu and both side Speckle panel appear. However, in Revit 2024 neither of Speckle Ribbon nor panel appear.

I have checked both my revit addin directories
C:\Users\abertzouanis\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2024
C:\Users\abertzouanis\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2026
they both contain Speckle.Connectors.Revit2024/2026 folder with DLLs and addin file respectively.

I am trying to resolve the error, I also uninstall all other Revit 2024 addins but the error persists.

Could you please point me anything which may help me to find a resolution to this error?

Hi @abertzouanis_EBA,

Do you have some other plugins installed in Revit 2024 different than 2026 that might borked each other? We saw similar cases in the past

I have run stantec AddInManager application and the only enabled plugins are the following, I guess those are comming with Autodesk, should I also deactivate those (apart from Speckle)?

@oguzhan, I also compared Revit 2024 addins to Revit 2026 addins and Revit 2026 does not have the “Views For A360” and “Collaborate” Addins.

Hey @abertzouanis_EBA ,

Can you try disabling/removing Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Revit 2024 and try again? We’ve had reports of it conflicting with Speckle.

@gokermu many thanks for your advice! I just disabled Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Revit 2024 and Speckle works now fine in Revit 2024. Is it weird that I also have Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Revit 2026 but Speckle worked fine in Revit 2026.

Therefore, conflict issue between “Speckle” and “Autodesk Data Exchange Connector” only exist in Revit 2024.

Thanks for that feedback - the Revit addon landscape is like the wild-west and different versions of different addons in various versions of revit combine to have a very unpredictable pattern of failure to support.
