Revit Components as empties in blender

Hi!

New to speckle and Love the seamless integration between Revit and Blender.
However when bringing revit model into blender some components are coming in as empties and wont allow me to edit them or change the materials.

As far as I can tell its happening with casework and structural components. any assistance would be great!

Thanks!

It always helps us hugely if you can share the minimum dataset that replicates the issue.

Happy to do so! if you could explain how I’d go about doing that I’m be glad to share. not really sure what minimum dataset is or where to find it.

I’ll refer you to my answer hear

Tl;dr Speckle instances (be it revit families or rhino/autocad blocks) will be received as collection instances in blender. These are special type of empty that instances a entire collection of objects, as such are a close match to the same concept in Speckle and other 3d apps.

These aren’t the easiest to edit inside blender, so i recommend you checkout the receive option to receive Speckle instances as linked duplicates, which behave more like standard blender objects.
