Point Clouds Not Visible in New Viewer

It seems like point clouds aren’t loading in the new viewer. I noticed when viewing a cloud that I uploaded 6 months ago which previously viewed correctly. I confirmed this morning that a freshly uploaded cloud doesn’t work either.

Hi Domenic,

Nothing is wrong with your file. The 2026.9 viewer doesn’t draw point clouds yet. The data is intact, the point cloud is still stored in the version, and connectors that load it keep working; it just isn’t rendered, and it fails silently rather than telling you so. Re-publishing won’t change what you see.

This is documented as a known limitation and the renderer work is tracked; it’s in the 2026.9 docs: 3D viewer in 2026.9 - Speckle Docs

I don’t have an estimated date.

Ah, I didn’t think to check the docs. FWIW, we use a lot of LiDAR scan data in our workflow and point cloud support would be very useful to have implemented again.

Hi,

Are there any updates on the missing point cloud feature in the new viewer? I’ve received several requests from users who would like to have point cloud support brought back.
