Objective: Hello!
I recently been recruted by Robert Snyder to help with the development of The open VCS - an open source tool to visualise model and drawings details in 3D. (The verry short version)
After Deep consideration I believe that Speckle could be The perfect platform for developing it with the great est impact.
For this I should be able to custom develop cameras /context, dimensions, hatches.
I am wrong to think that is totally possible with specklepy?
Super interesting @Ionut_Ciuntuc and welcome back to Speckle. I’ve been in contact with Robert many times on the topic and we’ve always had an open ear to his proposals.
Custom cameras can certainly be added to a project/model/version (using SDKs) which can be interpreted by speckle frontend as additional canonical views. This may or may not be what you want/need.
We will be looking into augmenting the viewer experience with additional features that briefly made it into the legacy Soeckle app - called slideshow mode - but with a full product definition, and (I’m purely speculative here) that may bring with it additional APIs to support it — but this is all planned but unscoped.
I have a good handle on Robert’s spec and schema but I’m missing what UX aspirations/intentions you have right now. The SDK can only do what I’ve said above but it cannot add Ui/Ux beyond additional views
I try to implement all the specs on open source tools.
Developing the library in paralel.
I will dive a bit into specklepy and see what is possible.
And how I can make it work.
Maybe use Blender as well.
