Model elements are not filtered

Hello everyone, help a beginner find a mistake. I upload the model from SketchUp to Speckle and then to Power BI. I see the model. But I can’t color it. It looks like all the elements are grouped. Although there is no grouping in the source file. And this is also seen in Speckle. What am I doing wrong?

You’re not doing much wrong yourself - we are changing a bit how we structure data when we send it from Sketchup.

You can alleviate the problem by making sure your objects are not “grouped” - my sketchup skills are rusty, so perhaps tomorrow @oguzhan and @gokermu can help more!

Follow up: they’re actually not gruped in the speckle viewer, but do they behave like grouped in powerbi? It might be a powerbi issue! (@gokermu is still the best person to help, but it’s rather late for him right now!)

Thank you. I’m waiting for help.

Hi @Vladimir_Beznosov,

According to your sent model, it seems like your elements are not grouped but are components in the SketchUp model. Could you explain more about how would you like to color objects in PowerBi?

Hi @oguzhan ,

The model I provided is part of a large warehouse project. Each pallet corresponds to a specific product with certain attributes. By manipulating attribute filters, I want to color the goods=pallets.

Hi everyone,
Is there any solution to my problem?

Hi @Vladimir_Beznosov,

Can you please tell us what version of Speckle PowerBI Connector are you using?

Hey @Vladimir_Beznosov ,

Short answer, we haven’t tried if our 3D Visual in Power BI works nicely with SketchUp Models. I recommend sending this model from Rhino as a workaround.

Hi @gokermu ,
Good. Thank you. I’ll try

Hello everyone,

I have the same problem today 08/12/2024. Is there any update about this issue?

Welcome to Speckle @Ewerton_Roberto_Inoc

This is an older thread but is your problem with Sketchup and PowerBI exactly?

What sort of data/structures are you looking to analyse

I have this model uploaded to Speclke from Sketchup. In Speckle, I can select each box as show the image bellow:

But in Power BI, I can’t select the boxes individually.

I click in the box and nothing happens.

When I try to use a filter, the visual is filtred but dont make sense.

Hi @Ewerton_Roberto_Inoc,

We haven’t tailored our Power BI connector with SketchUp yet, and there are some known issues when interacting with SketchUp models in Power BI. We are currently working on refactoring our 3D Viewer Visual to resolve these issues. In the meantime, I recommend importing the SketchUp model into Rhino and sending it from there.

Please let me know if you continue to experience this issue after sending from Rhino.
