Introducing Workspaces Beta

Hey @Community,

We pre-announced this was brewing in the Speckle kitchen at the start of the summer, and now Workspaces is available in open beta; you’re the first to hear about it. With this announcement, we’re inviting you to try it out today, share as much feedback as humanly possible and get onboarded with your team!

What does this mean?

This new experience will help you and your team get the most out of Speckle’s collaborative view, from controlling your projects to inviting external collaborators without worrying about data security.

Before Workspaces, you could only get this level of security by creating your server or joining our old enterprise plan. With Workspaces, you are one click away from reaching higher data security and privacy, more data control, and better project management in AEC.

What’s coming next?

An enterprise-ready version will launch in November where we will introduce:

  • Data residency compliance: you will be able to decide in which region or country your data is hosted to comply with even the most stringent project requirements
  • Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) / Single Sign On (SSO)

Once Workspaces is out of beta in November, you will need to upgrade to the Team Plan to keep using them, but for now, you can join Workspaces for free!

The Paid Plans

Here’s a quick summary of the new plans coming in November:

  • Free: Keep using Speckle as you always have; there are no changes there. Workspaces are not available on the Free plan.
  • Team: Create a workspace for your team for £49 per user per month. Ten external collaborators (guests) are included for free, after which you will be charged a small extra fee (£5 for guests with read-only access, £15 for guests with read-and-write access). By creating a workspace, you are activating our Team Plan, and will be prompted to pay after hitting 500 versions.
  • Enterprise: We will tailor a pricing offer for you and your team based on your needs. Let’s talk about what you would like to achieve with Workspaces! Contact us at office@speckle.systems

We can’t wait to tell you more about it at SpeckleCon, until then, you can bring your team on workspaces and tell us all about it in the forum!

Great news! At Arup we are keen to explore this and giving feedback. Looking forward to hearing about how we setup a workspace to trial.

We are happy to hear and even happier to help - we will make a more public announcement later and are light-speeding toward a set of documentation to help. We can also answer questions directly.

Thanks for the many questions that you have been pinging us with, we are a little behind with documentation, but here now, Speckle Workspaces Beta | Speckle Docs including an Frequently Asked Questions | Speckle Docs section, which we will keep updated as you have more as you explore what Workspaces is now and will soon be.
