Hello I am Klaus, are based in Norway and just joined Speckle. Iām an engineer that have been working with wind, solar and recently energy efficiency, all of which requires spatial data, measurements (wind, lidar) and spatial visualisation of results (CFD results, wind and solar maps, thermal comfort of buildings etc).
For my recent work on energy efficiency in buildings , I often encounter other suppliers (HVAC installers, electricians, solar installers) that needs the same data (floor plans, building model) and should also collaborate on joint solutions to obtain the best results.
So just started collaborative work with my small team, and will soon try to invovle other suppliers for our clients, see how it goes.
I guess Iāll leave my two cents here as well even though Iāve been active around here for a couple weeks now.
Iām Henrik, Iām a structural engineer by trade and Iām currently working as the BIM lead at OSA (Ochs Schmidhuber Architekten), located in beautiful Munichās bustling city center.
Iām excited to see how we can use Speckle to improve information flow in our office, and Iām always happy to provide feedback and suggest new features
I am Hendrik
Currently in Pretoria, South Africa
A designer by nature
An architect by training
A closet industrial designer by passion
A renderer of 3D things by compulsion
A lover of hand drafting technical drawings (because there are few man-made things as beautiful as hand-made things)
A passionate follower of opening up data systems in the AEC field⦠by necessity.
I used to love SketchUp, I now love Onshape
I used to love Excel - currently exploring what to love next
I used to love Octane Render, I now Unreal Engine
I desperately want to love Revit⦠(oh the pain!)
I love my wife and my kids and am only alive today because of a mercy greater than I. A connection no Speckle in the universe could create for us.
If there is such a thing as acute software anti-disconnection alert syndrome (asadas) for software in the AEC industry, I have been suffering from it for many, many years. There is clearly some exciting movement in the AEC space right now. Itās much needed and very exciting!
On this platform I am looking forward to connect with the connectors to see more connections.
I“m based in Valencia (Spain) at the moment, although I“ve worked in London for the past 5 years. I am an architect and structural engineer (11 academic years of uni in total + a couple of years of work experience in both roles), currently working as structural engineer. I am new in using Speckle but I defend myself quite well in Python and Grasshopper, so hopefully I can make a fast start.
My hobbie would be learning foreign languages and. Looking forward to reading your replies at the forum.
Hi there , Iām Matt, I work in the US for a consulting structural engineering firm. Weāre headquartered in the southeast but work all over the US. Iām a structural Engineer by training but largely in process, technology, training, support at this point. I love to open up data availability and hate replicating it, so speckle just makes sense.
A lot of my interest short term at least is internal sharing data between Revit and analysis tools, streamlining our workflows and processes. Really interested in where Speckle might fit into that, I think it could and will play a big part.
Outside of the office Iām a passionate mountain biker and a bit of an endurance junky.
Hello Mateo, my name is Saul Simanca Pushaina, I am from Colombia. I have worked in the industry for more than 30 years. I recently started working on this BIM issue, just 6 years ago, and I have been working on the topic of data management for a couple of days, in that order. of ideas, my knowledge about the Common Data Environment [CDE] is extremely limited but I am always ready for the challenges that this process demands. I am a specialist in Revit modeling in various disciplines, instructor manager of my company SAYVA ACADEMY where I teach AECO professionals all this topic of modeling in Revit focused on the subsequent management of data and converting it into information. Happily marriedš father of 2 beautiful children and right now Iām giving birth to a new puppyš¶after so long.
Hi, Iām Peter Saal. I trained as an architect and have worked in the wood products industry as a woodworker, engineer, system designer, and software developer. About 20 years ago a partner and I had a startup that developed what became Dynamic Components for SketchUp. Originally we developed it for cabinet manufacturing, but Google diverted us to other priorities. Today Iām a partner in Mattersmith, a company fulfilling that original mission. Mattersmith is an online system to configure, quote, and automate production of parametric objects like cabinets, furniture, doors, wall systems etc. We see great potential for Speckle to help us bridge the gap between design and manufacturing for AEC.
Hi there!
My name is Mauro and Iām a BIM Coordinator here in beautiful Naples, Italy.
Iām so excited to jump in and learn more from all of you!
As we need to refresh our approach, Iām currently studying Speckle to roll it out across the company, and also parametric design.
When Iām not working Iām training (crossfit ) and studying coding and stuff!
My name is Youssef, and Iām from Lebanon and currently studying in Switzerland. I am a surveyor and studying Geomatics Engineering with a focus on GeoBIM and Infrastructure. Using Speckle, I am trying to stream parametric models from Grasshopper into Unreal Engine to generate visualizations based on these models
I am impressed by Speckle, and I look forward to discovering more in it.
When Iām not modeling a terrain or a mountain, you can find me hiking these peaks, enjoying nature and wildlife.
While our BIM coordinators are deep in project work, as CTO and architect at Tietoa Finland Oy (BIM/ digital design support team of 50 people) I try to help behind the scenes - tuning and automating our processes to make their lives easier. I came across Speckle only recently, but it clicked right away. Weāre heavy Solibri users, so Iām eagerly awaiting the day the Connector lands. In the meantime, Iām happy to test, learn, and explore. Thereās also some exciting potential on our architectural and urban design competitions platform āespecially around 3D model submissions and judging workflows. For example using Speckle to help to combine IFC and GS (city)models on Unreal Engine. Our visualisation team has been diving into city models lately, with some nice results using Gaussian Splatting.
Outside of work, Iāve always had a thing for painting (or image-making in whatever form), though it often takes a back seat. If I had to sum myself up in three words: architecture, visual arts, and programming.
Traveling with the family and friends helps keep me grounded. Looking forward to this yearās vacation - hopefully with more swimming and less towing (car keys in Adidas shorts pockets..)
Hi, Iām Jack and I just joined Team Speckle as a Product designer.
Iām based on the east coast⦠of England, where the sea is brown and the beach is pebbles, which seems to attract the ācreativeā types. When I was at school the Careers service survey presented me with recommendations to pursue either Architecture or Graphic design. I chose the latter. Here we are now though, with an opportunity for the twain to meet, hopefully justifying my life choices while nurturing my curiosity for architecture into a passion for the domain. I have a lot to learn, but welcome the challenge head on.
My experience in design covers a lot of ground, including tinkering with personal projects, but most recently in wrangling complex, data-heavy SaaS apps for enterprise B2B clients. Joining Speckle at this exciting time, Iām hugely looking forward to contributing to the already great work from the team and developing myself into the elusive hybrid of designer and software engineer.
Outside of work I prefer to be outside, enjoying time in nature and exploring the countryside with my partner and our pooch, but probably staying out of the sea. I get a lot of pleasure from feeding myself and sometimes the people closest to me, usually in the form of bread and usually sourdough, though babka and pretzels are part of my repertoire. Recently I took up pottery so the house is beginning to accumulate bad ceramics that I will need to gift, or more likely, use as houseplant drainage. Wish me luck as I psyche myself up to getting messy with throwing on the wheel.
Hey there! Iām Thomas, a Landscape Architect and Big olā Nerdā¢.
Iāve been working as a Landscape Architect and Computational Designer for over a decade In Australia and the UK designing beautiful and inclusive Landscapes around the world.
My journey here grew from founding tools like PhytoFiles and LandArchTools, where Iāve been passionate about building and communicating tech for the landscape industry. Iām about helping people become better designers through technology to tackle the super-duper hard problems.
Iām joining Speckle as a Product Evangelist - my goal remains the same, to help people achieve better outcomes through technology.
A small fact about me, my cats silently judge my life choices. Theyāve yet to offer a single piece of useful advice, but their disapproving stares have prevented more questionable decisions than any self-help book ever could.
Hi everyone! Iām Tina (Agustina Aboy), an architect from Uruguay with a strong passion for technology in the AEC industry.
I studied Architecture and later studied programming on my own, experimenting with Python, P5.js, and a bit of C#.
These days, I wear multiple hats: I work as a project manager at Lagarsoft and also as a BIM consultant for architectural firms, helping them implement best practices, automate workflows, and develop custom templates that actually fit their needs.
When Iām not testing out AEC tech, youāll probably find me absorbed in watercolor painting, writing, orāmost likelyānerding out on coffee stuff.
Iām Daniel, a software engineer based in Madrid that just joined the Speckle Team!
Iām a profile that works in all kind of startups but my last few years I spent them in the German metal industry. Iām extremely happy to now move to AEC and Iām looking forward to apply all my experience to make Speckle even better!
Lotās of Typescript in my career mostly in the backend, but in reality Iām a 4x4 type of Software Engineer; cross domain - cross language - cross responsibility as I have a consultancy background too. If you donāt see me online, Iāll probably be by the coffee machine or underwater spotting weird creatures
Iām joining more the backend/deployments part of the project, so I might not be too active around here⦠but Iām always here to help!
