Inconsistency in speckle project browser card vs grid

Hey,

so I was setting up a testproject with a ‘folder’ structure from the 'grid view: which looks like this:

However, if I switch to the ‘cards’ view, it is showing the folders as separate models instead of a ‘group’ of cards. Is this as-designed? is this something that is going to be improved?

“What is a folder?” is a little under review.

It is not a burning issue as the new web app treatment of nested models is better than the legacy web application - but there are apparent problems with thinking of these things in the same ways as a drive directory on your desktop.

So, I have a question: what would be your expected behaviour for nested model card view?

So for me, this could be 2 approaches:

  1. have the cards ‘grouped’ in to the ‘folder’ location as it would be or a random card colour based on the ‘path’ that matches on all models in the same ‘folder’
  2. another is to have only the models shown and then the ‘path’ would be shown on the card. (so as the cards are now, but then the ‘folder’ cards hidden)

of course, they could be combined :slight_smile:
