US_POOL_HOUSE_v2025.ifc.zip (4.9 MB)
Still running here :
It is a IFC 4.3 - is this supported ?

Works fine now, thanks !
I can reproduce some problems with the file you sent, will investigate more…
Seems specific to some of the IfcRelations in that specific file
Hmmhh, it was exported from Vectorworks.
It looks 99,9% complete in OpenIFCViewer, Bricscad only missing the Roof Slab, but in Blender/Bonsai all Doors, Windows, Furniture come in as “empty” Empties without geometry …
So after some more investigation debugging the import job…
It fails to parse a certain IfcRelationType
entity, because we’re expecting the last parameter (index 6) to be a StepId…
but instead its an “undefined” id (‘$’)
#2782= IFCRELDEFINESBYTYPE('0NT9Qfk$f51Q3Yda0lmhAP',#11,'W-1',$,(#2689),$);
My understanding of the schema is that this is not an optional value…
(schema would normally clearly say “IfcTypeObject (Optional)” if it were…
I’ll do some more digging, perhaps different versions of the schema type this differently…
OK, seems not to be the best IFC export.
I found an import log file, should be from Bricscad (?).
Lot of problems and omitted objects.
US_POOL_HOUSE_v2025.ifc.in.log (18.8 KB)
I did some fixing (converting to Solids and such) in Bricscad for the IFC import and exported it from Bricscad as IFC 4.3 again. It is now larger, 43 MB but it uploaded to Speckle fine now
Will do it again, still lots of crappy ACIS Solids errors in export log …
This has been the bane of IFC from day one. Sometimes we can work around problems but it just masks the problem.

Looks like Vectorworks IFC 4.0 works quite OK.
Meanwhile I was able to also upload a newer version of the IFC 4x3 file. So something was successfully updated on Speckle’s IFC side. And the 4x3 in Speckle also looks as complete as in OpenIfcViewer.
This is great !
Bricscad is moaning in a log file and is the only one having a problem with the multi-ply Roof Slab (with different opening dimensions for both plies). Everything else is there too.
Blender/Bonsai still does not successfully import the 4x3.
(But works great with a VW 4.0 IFC)
So I still think that VW’s 4x3 export is crap anyway.
