Hi zoomer,
Worth flagging - once again - that 5.2 and 5.3 alpha arenât in our supported matrix, we currently test against 4.2â5.1 ( How to use Speckle for Blender - Speckle Docs ). Not being able to install or activate the add-on there isnât something we can meaningfully investigate.
For context: 2026.9.0 did add a new dependency, pyarrow, for the data bundle publish/receive path that 2026.8.0 didnât have, installed via pip when the add-on registers. If thatâs failing on an unsupported alpha build, thatâs between you and pipâs wheel matching, not a connector bug we can chase.
If you hit this on a supported Blender version (4.2-5.1), let us know and weâll take a proper look.
For future reports along these lines - we know you like living on the bleeding edge - itâd help to include more than âisnât workingâ. Next time, send us:

It was only a short Info that something happened since 2026.9.0
Ah, I just didnât expect that Blender 5.2 LTS (from July) was not on the official allowed install list. So it will not update the hidden Speckle Connectorâs Installation Folder.
Canât find any Blender 5.1 Download to test. I still have a 5.1 Settings folder but I see no traces of 2026.9.0 as it will likely also not update Speckle Installations Folder (to copy over to 5.2+) as long as I donât run the legacy Add-On installation-from-zip from a Blender 5.1 installation.
Yes, of course, my Specs are as always out of range (e.g. macOS 27 Public Beta) and not helpful (as well as the error : No module named âspecklepy.api.enumsâ).
But 2026.8.0 seems to still work fine.
(Besides that my test uploads were already expired again,
an upload test threw a warning :
"Failed to publish: 1 validation error for DataResponse[DataResponse[DataResponse[DataResponse[DataResponse[str]]]]]
data.data.data.data.data
Field required [type=missing, input_value={}, input_type=dict]
For further information visit https://errors.pydantic.dev/2.12/v/missing
")
but upload worked though âŚ)
And great to see, Speckle got an update available message with a direct download option.
(OK, on Mac it downloaded the Windows exe installer)
So Iâll skip current Speckle versions and wait until 5.2 is supported.
