I’ll admit my knowledge is probably out of date, but is DS not 2D limited? If so this is probably not going to be prioritised soon.

I think Draftsight is native 3D, but works in 2D as default. The user interface is almost identical to Autocad, but I’m not sure about under the hood.
I haven’t used it much for 3D as I would normally fall back to Tekla for that. My initial focus with Draftsight was the improved custom blocks.
My real interest in 3D in CAD comes with Rhino, as it has the additional functionality that I’m looking for, namely functional parametric modelling.
As an extension to my Tekla question, I was thinking that I might be able to use Draftsight to get the grid and reference models in there if they could not be imported via Tekla.
