Is it useful, allowed or appropriate to register for more than one Speckle account ?
Like one for private testing and an official account for customers
or even one for each customer or even each project ?
Go for it. 
Accounts are linked to email addresses 1:1

(I would have a few current email addresses in use)

and organize project separation inside that account ?
More than one is fine. You may wish to see how “Multiplayer” works in practice.
Start with as few as you need to test what you need to get going.
As you suggest, you may find it easier to have a single account but many streams, some for testing and some for work.
