I’m Jasmine, a BIM manager in Pittsburgh, PA. At Strada Architecture we author in Archicad 27 and 28 and would love to develop our BIM validations with Speckle automation tools. To a lesser degree help develop Rhino mapping of AC native objects.
Is Speckle’s automation toolkit currently not open to the public? If not, is it possible for us to help beta test.
Speckle Automate is currently available in a free public beta—just note that you need to be inside a Workspace to use it. You’re welcome to start a trial of Workspaces, which automatically gives you access to Automate as well. You can check out the documentation here: What is Automate? | Speckle Docs
What sort of automation or validations were you hoping to set up? “Automation” can mean a lot of different things to different teams. We’re here to help you onboard and ensure you get the most out of Archicad ↔ Speckle (and Rhino mappings) for your workflows. Let us know your use cases, and we’ll do our best to get you started smoothly!
Thanks, looks like the workspaces is what I was missing. I wanted to follow the QA/QC Automate tutorial. But my first test validation will be of bolted seats in zones.
If you are seeking to use that function ready-baked, let me know. @chuck will soon release it as a public function, so no code needs to be touched - unless you want to.
There is no theoretical obstacle to using it with ArchiCAD, but I haven’t so far. I will be happy to work with you on rule setting if you like.
To echo - you will (imminently!) be able to use that function as-is. But if you want to customize it or have other plans in general, you can create your own functions today. We’ll ping you here when the function is ready.
After you give it a try, or if you want help making/planning other functions any time, feel free to grab a slot in my calendar here:
