At Speckle, we continuously evolve our API to improve reliability, performance, and features. As part of this process, we sometimes need to restructure endpoints or deprecate older APIs in order to move the platform forward.
Because of that, we’ll be using this thread to announce any breaking REST/GraphQL API changes in advance, along with guidance on what’s changing and how to migrate when possible.
We recommend subscribing to this thread if you rely on Speckle’s API in production, so you don’t miss important updates.

Comments APIs have been deprecated to prepare for the Issues launch. The expectation is that developers should move over to the new Issues API. We plan to remove the old API after 01 Jun 2026.
The startFileImport mutation has been deprecated in favour of startFileIngestion. We plan to remove the old API from https://app.speckle.systems after 01 June 2026
The existing project embed token API has been deprecated in favor of the new Share Token API. We plan to remove the old API from https://app.speckle.systems after October 1st, 2026.
The existing sharing APIs for sharing embeds, presentations and dashboards have been deprecated in favor of the new Share Token APIs. We plan to remove the old API from https://app.speckle.systems after November 1, 2026.
