Request to bring back the section box feature

Hi,

I wanted to switch from an older legacy version to the lastest version of the Power BI Visual and noticed that the section box feature is no longer available. It was super helpful for focusing on parts of the model. I’m wondering if there are any plans to reintroduce the section box in upcoming versions?

Hey @Giulia ,

We definitely can bring it back. It just depends on how you were using it in Power BI context. Can you expand on how you were using it? Examples helps us understand the use case.

I often used the section box to focus on a specific part of the building or to better understand how different elements connect - especially in more complex models. The previous version with the standard box was already very helpful, being able to move it up, down, and side to side.
There were some limitations - particularely when the section box wasn’t aligned with be building’s orientation or when it was bigger than i actually needed it to be. In those cases, it was sometimes difficult to get the exact view i needed. It would be a huge improvement if the section box could not only be moved but also resized and rotated.

Thanks for the context. We are using the same viewer as our web app. Rotating section boxes have been recently added. So if/when we add section box, we’d have rotating ootb.
