Power BI Visual - Colors Fading when filtering

Hi Everyone,

When using the PowerBI visual with a 3D model, very often we use colors to filter e relate to other data.

The issue I´m having is that when I first load the visual, it appears with very live colors, but whenever I use a filter segmentation, the colors applied seem to fade out, becoming “foggy” (see before and after images attached).

Is that common? If so, how can I fix it?

See how it is after reseting the filter:

Hey @jaribeirovargas ,

We have fixed this issue in our next-gen Power BI connector. It seems you are using legacy 3D Visual for Power BI. Get latest Power BI connector from here.

I´m having issue now with applying colors to the elements of the 3D visual. Have something changed regarding that?

See image. I attach a field value with hex colors and the visual does not update.

Hey @jaribeirovargas ,

Yes, next-gen 3d visual does not support conditional formatting. We’re actively working on improving coloring logic in 3d visual.

Really! I´m gonna have to use the legacy ones then, because my dashboard is pretty much based on conditional formating coloring. @gokermu would be kind to inform if/when this feature becomes available on the v3 next gen connector for power BI?

Just a feedback @gokermu : this latest update to the next gen connector in power bi really broke my entire dashboard and I´m having to redo pretty much every querie in power BI. Some of the properties in the Speckle model also are missing and the relationships are breaking as well. I know it´s not your fault, but it is really frustrating that the conditional formating is not working as the new visual is rolling out already. Could have waited to launch it when it had all the major functionalities of the previous version. Also, having both new and old connector seems to bug out power bi in regards to query commands.

Hey @jaribeirovargas ,

Sorry to hear your existing dashboards are broken. Just so you know, legacy Power BI connector and 3d visual are still available and can be used. We just don’t add any new features to them. You can install legacy Power BI connector from Manager if it works for you.

When it comes to next-gen Power BI connector itself has all the major functionalities of v2 connector. When it comes to 3D visual, it’s been rearchitected to have a solid base. Yes, this results in not having all features that previous 3d visual has but it means we can add more features faster.
