Power BI - Error: federated models from different projects

Hey,

I have 2 models coming from 2 different projects that I am trying to federate (using the helper function Speckle.Models.Federate from the youtube tutorial)

Once i add the column to the PBI viewer, i get this error:

Additional info:

  1. The models render without problems when i load them individually / separately.
  2. If I federate 2 models from the same project, the viewer renders the merged / federated models correctly

The error appears only when I federate models coming from different projects.

Hey @dleu ,

Very recently we changed the behaviour of 3d visual. This resulted in dropping support for federating models from different projects. We’ll unlist that tutorial now. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

are you guys dropping this feature permanently or is it something temporarily? really think this is an amazing feature to have!

Model federation still works. It just won’t work for models from different projects.

Yes, we dropped it. It resulted in some complications in the implementations. It won’t work for models from different projects anymore.
