Performance Regression in Power BI Connector v3.0.0: Handling Large Datasets (30k Objects) vs. Legacy v2.20.1

Dear community, we recently upgraded from the legacy Power BI Connector (v2.20.1) to the next-generation v3.0.0. While v3.0.0 introduces modern features, we’ve observed a critical regression : the new connector fails to handle large projects (e.g., 30,000+ objects) that v2.20.1 previously supported without issues. This impacts workflows for enterprise-scale BIM/CAE projects.

Please, if you could give me a solution to the problem we’re having, or clarify if we’re doing something wrong.
Regards

Hi @Willian_Higuera,

Thanks for reporting!

According to our benchmarks, new Power BI connector is way more performant than the old connector. If you let us know where it got stuck on your end, we can take a look to see whether it’s a bug or a UX issue. Do not hesitate to share screenshots or recordings. If it is private, you can reach me out over DM

Hi @oguzhan ,
I’m sending you the link to the project so you can review it and see what the problem is.

Hi @Willian_Higuera,

We have lately fixed an issue with the visual that might be a similar case with your model. Could you test with the latest version (3.0.1) and get back to us whether the issue persists or not?

Best

HI @oguzhan ,
We’ve tested the model with the latest version (3.0.1) and can confirm the visual object now functions correctly, including performance with large-scale models. The issue appears resolved,We will continue testing with larger models and we will report any inconvenience.

Thanks for the support.

Best regards.
