Issues snapping to received objects in Revit

Hi @gokermu

I am also facing the same issue where the elements in my Revit model can not be snapped. I tried importing the model elements (Rhino to Revit) via DXF & DXF option where they can snapped but they appear as imports and not as families. They can only be imported as direct shapes to be Revit native families in this instance. Is there any way around it?

Hi @Aqueel_Jumaa,

This is a limitation of Revit. When objects are generated as meshes, snapping is not possible. We are currently working on the next generation of the Revit connector, which includes an improved Brep converter. If your source model is from Rhino, could you please try using the next-gen Revit connector? It is automatically installed along with the v2 connector if you have version 2.21.2 installed.

Thank you!

There are some limitations with the next gen Revit connector when it comes to importing as they import as generic families in my case. But no issues here. I went to the crux of the issue which is the elements used are polymesh so I had them converted to 3D solids. It was then easy to get snapped.
