Hello
I am a new Speckle user, and I have questions about transferring data from Sketchup to Revit. I wonder if I can add data to the walls, ceiling and floor? As well as adding different families such as windows, doors etc? I look forward to using Speckle in the future! Thanks in advance.
Hey @Vedad_Canic ,
Currently, our SketchUp connector allows you to transer “geometry” from SketchUp into Rhino with limited info (category, material). These geometries are not native Revit elements, so you won’t be able to add windows/doors or modify the wall/floor etc.
In essence:
- They’re non-parametric elements that maintain their form regardless of project changes
- They support basic material assignments and visibility controls
- They can carry parameter data but can’t be modified like native Revit families
- Commonly used for importing complex geometry from other software (like Rhino or SketchUp)
- Useful for conceptual design and visualization, but have limited BIM functionality
