Hello Speckle community,
I’m working on a Navisworks model containing about 5,000 objects. However, when I export it to Speckle using the Speckle Connector, the object count increases to 50,000. This makes the model extremely heavy and difficult to work with on Speckle.
Objective: I’m trying to reduce the level of detail to make the model lighter and more manageable without losing key information. However, I haven’t been able to find a way to lower the detail level during the export process.
Issue: Is there a specific setting or workflow I should follow in Speckle or Navisworks to reduce the level of detail or optimize the model during export? Any advice on how to manage larger models more efficiently in Speckle would be greatly appreciated.
Example: The model mainly consists of architectural elements, and after the export, the object count inflates significantly, which wasn’t expected.
