Grasshopper Setup

The releases contain both the Speckle Grasshopper Clients as well as the Speckle User Data Utils (more to come).

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at http://speckle.works/doc/grasshopperinstall/

One important bit that might cause trouble for previous users (pre v.0.0.1):

Speckle saves its current connections in a folder: %appdata%\roaming\SpeckleSettings. If you’re starting fresh, I would recommend deleting all the files in that folder.

Hi Dimitrie,

After following the instructions here and after hitting the “Register!” button, we’re getting an “Invalid URI” exception being thrown. Any ideas of what this could be?

Many thanks,
Andre

Managed to get around this one. I was using the deprecated repo. :man_facepalming:

I hear you. The docs need to be updated! :grimacing:
Reminder for future readers: the rhino+grasshopper repos have been consolidated into one monorepo, SpeckleRhino, which is here: GitHub - speckleworks/SpeckleRhino: Rhino 6 + Grasshopper Speckle Clients

Hey Dimitrie,

I hate to sound like the person that can not install a gh component but I will :frowning:

I haven’t been able to get around the error that Andre was getting about the URI.

I have installed this version: Release Speckle Grasshopper 0.0.3 History & Expressivity Upgrade 🏗 · speckleworks/SpeckleGrasshopper · GitHub

and I am using the https://s003.speckle.works/api as the server URL.

Any ideas? Could there be an issue with Firewall?

Darn that. Download the .rhi installer instead from the SpeckleRhino repo readme. Check the latest post https://speckle.works/blog/specklerhinoplugin/

It will automatically install the grasshopper plugin too, but make sure to remove the old one first.

Hey Dimitrie, well done mate, that works wonders! Thanks, will try it out and make sure to give some feedback!

SpeckleGrasshopper repo attacks again.
Dimitrie, it’s probably a good a good idea to make that note on the top of https://github.com/speckleworks/SpeckleGrasshopper more noticeable.

I can’t really, short of deletion. It’s a rather big h1 in the readme… sorry for the delay. I’ll ask around and see if there’s a way to not show/hide completely archived repos.
