Grasshopper RevitWall and WallOpenings

Hi there,

I am trying to create a wall in Revit with openings using the Speckle Revit Grasshopper components.

I can create the wall using “RevitWall by curve and levels” component however I cannot get the opening to come through with the RevitWallOpening component.

Do you have any guidance on how to use the RevitWallOpening component?

My approach was to set the “host” as the output from “RevitWall by curve and levels” and the “outline” as a polyline of the void perimeter but I cannot get the voided wall to appear in Revit.

I can achieve it with the RevitFaceWall component however when I bring that into Revit the beams do not get trimmed back to the wall face like with the “RevitWall by curve and levels” approach.

Many thanks in advance!

Best, Sean

Hey Sean,

Could you show a screenshot fo your GH definition and any errors that might show up inside the Connector report tab in Revit?

One thing you could try is plugigng the “RevitWallOpening” inside the “elements” input of the Revit Wall node.

Hey Matteo,

Thank you. I tried the latter but couldn’t get that to work however I did see the void outline appear in the Speckle viewer online.

I tried to upload the script but cannot.

GH definition is below. I just have two walls, and a void in each. I cannot see any error messages in Grasshopper or Revit.

Sorry this is not working, our team is fully dedicated to shipping v3 connectors and will look at this workflow as part of their development. In the meantime I can suggest you to use Rhino Inside Revit as an alternative.
