Feedback on Power BI Next Gen 3.00-beta.23: Performance Issues and Unexpected Crashes

Hi team,

I am using Power BI Next Gen 3.00-beta.23, and I have encountered some issues that have made it difficult to work properly:

  1. Slow loading in Power Query: The process of loading all the information in Power Query is significantly slow.
  2. Unexpected crashes in Power BI Viewer: Once I successfully load the model in the Power BI viewer, applying filters or selecting elements from tables causes the application to close automatically.
  3. Error message due to lack of memory: The error message states that the application failed due to insufficient memory. However, after checking my PC’s memory usage, there doesn’t seem to be any actual memory issue.

I am sharing this message to provide feedback on this beta version. I hope it helps improve future releases.

Hi @Pablo-HorizunAEC,

Ty for providing feedback, we currently have 512MB data limit on powerbi side, but we will sort it. For the memory issue, we aware of them and also working on it. Initial releases of powerbi connector currently as POC on many other details.

Hey @Pablo-HorizunAEC ,

Current version of next-gen Power BI connector is beta.33? Can you check if you are able to reproduce mentioned issues with this version. I can’t seem to reproduce any of the issues.
