Error installing Speckle Plugin for ETABS

I am running in the similar issue, to that solved here:

This is an issue that happens when the Speckle plugin is installed while ETABS is open, and it’s on our list of things to fix (which keeps growing ). Speckle is unable to register its plugin if ETABS is open so you’ll either need to close ETABS and reinstall or manually locate the plugin using the following steps. However if I apply your medicine I get the following message:

Sorry to hear that! Just so that I have the full picture, what medicine from the previous solution did you apply?

Did you try:

• Closing ETABS
• Un-installing and re-installing the ETABS connector from the manager
• And then manually adding the plugin as detailed here: CSI Products (ETABS, CSiBridge, SAP2000, SAFE) | Speckle Docs

For me to help you a bit further, could you also tell me:

• What version of ETABS you are using? What version of the Speckle ETABS connector do you have installed?
• Was it working previously?
• Do you have connectors for other CSi products installed → SAP?

Thank you for getting back. Sorry for the sparse description previously, let me try to provide a big picture.

• The installed ETABS version is ETABS22 in trial period.
• ETABS connector is 2.20.0-wip13
• This is the first time I am testing the ETABS connector.
• No connectors for other CSI products installed.

The steps I have taken: already removed and installed again the speckle ETABS connector. After that I have tried to manually add plugin as described in a post from speckle team, which leads to the error message.

No worries @Miroljub_Anastasov - thanks for the infos. Okay wow, you’ve got the brand spanking new version of ETABS . Currently the ETABS Connector support only goes up to v21.

I will need to try this out on my end and I’ll get back to you!

@bjoern, we’ve had a business-wide upgrade to ETABS 22, and folks are crying out for an ETABS plugin update - if it’s not ready for the general public, is there a test branch I can build the plugin from that I can distribute to those who are keen?

Nothing yet for testing, but we’re working on ETABS 22 support as part of Next-Gen Connectors. So, knowing this is great, thanks!
