Dynamo error: Unable to cast object of type "System.Windows.Controls.Spearator"

Hi guys,

I am getting the above error when I add a Receive node in Dynamo canvas. Deleted the connector and reinstalled it but this didn’t solve the problem.,

Unable to cast object of type “System.Windows.Controls.Spearator” to type “System.Windows.Controls.MenuItem”

This happens both in Dynamo for Revit 2021 and 2022.

Hey, G I cannot replicate, can you please confirm the usual:

  • version of Dynamo
  • version of Dynamo and Revit connectors
  • maybe a screenshot of your dynamo plugins?

Hi @teocomi,

I have multiple Revit versions installed in my device. I have tried it in both apps and it doesn’t work in both of them. I made a complete reinstallation and this didn’t solve the problem.

This happens in my workstation. It works just fine in my personal device.

So, your 2021 setup is exactly like mine… Can you zip your %appdata%\Dynamo\Dynamo Revit\2.6\packages folder and send it to me for some testing?

This way I can see if there’s any conflict!

Thanks! Really weird, I still cannot repro…
But since it seems to be related to a separator in the context menu of the node, I have removed it and made a beta release (2.1.28-beta).

Please give it a try when you get a chance, it should finish getting published soon :crossed_fingers:
