Something I recognized last week and which came to me today again …
When dimensioning with perpendicular style like this:
Click #1: top of slab of the second slab from the top
click #2: top of slab of the third slab from the top
dimension line should be one storey below … except it shows it one storey above. The dimension value is correct, but the position is off. This issue happens when you dimension downwards → not correct.
The way the perpendicular measurement works is by stopping at the first intersection it finds along it’s line. That’s why when going from 1’st floor to 3’rd. it stops and the 2’nd slab, and when you go from 3’rd to 2’nd in the opposite direction it stops at the 2’nd slab.
Having the perp measurement ‘pass through’ objects might be a valid feature request, so thank you for bringing it up!
