đź‘€ Did your model just turn into a video game?

Fun fact of the day: The viewer just levelled up again.

Now you can glide through your designs with WASD controls gaming style and orbit around any point of interest with precision. No more clicking about and adjusting—just smoooth navigation that saves you time and keeps the focus on what’s important to you.

But it’s your call! When you’re troubleshooting or just showing something to your team, we know you don’t want to stop and think about how to navigate—you just want to do it. That’s why you can switch between WASD and orbiting without it.

:point_right: It’s live, so test it, see how it feels and please tell us: any feedback is welcomed!
Think of it as a new way to walk and fly around your model, which will take some getting used to. For any support on the way—we’re always here!

Thank you guys for this update. The “click to orbit” feature is a lifesaver and so much more in line with what you’re used to from other model viewers. Keep rocking! :zap:

hey @mirna , love this feature! much more natural way of navigating, at least for some of us :D:video_game::video_game::video_game:

As some early feedback, I noticed 2 things:

  • When typing a comment, the WASD keeps are still active, meaning a user is navigating and typing at the same time.
  • The WASD keys are not active on the orthogonal view.

Thanks for the great update as always.

Hi @ChrisT, thanks for the feedback
We’ve made a fix to disable the WASD navigation while commenting, which will be released shortly.
Orthogonal view is not supported at the moment.

I’m not sure how orthogonal model can be supported in ortho camera tbh. As the name suggests, it’s parallel projection. So WASD can’t have any affect. Correct me if I’m wrong.
