Hello
I am currently having difficulties assigning a “Design Procedure” for a Section Designer Column I created on ETABS, the program giving me the following message :
" Some Frames could not be assigned requested procedure - wrong material or section. "
Keep in mind that I am using C30/37 concrete and S355 steel, and I also tried using 5000psi concrete and A992Fy50 steel, both combinations giving me the same message.
Any help on how can I make ETABS design my Section Designer Composite Column ?
Hey @Anthony1! Thanks for posting your question and welcome to the community!
Could you please catch me up a little on how you got to this stage? Did you receive a model in ETABS using the connector? How was this model created? What do the properties of the frame in question look like?
Helpful would be if I can have a look at the speckle model (make link shareable and send me the link) as well as the ETABS model. This can be simply uploaded to the chat, alternatively I can send you a link to a gdrive where you can drop everything.
Cheers!
Björn
Hello
Glad you can help me!
In any new model I start I am facing the same problem : the Composite Columns I insert using Section Designer cannot be assigned the Composite Column Design Procedure. Do you have the same problem in your ETABS ?
Thank you.
Right. Are the sections and columns being defined solely in ETABS?
Or are you using the Speckle connectors to bring an analytical model into ETABS from, for example, Grasshopper (where the comp. section is being defined and design procedure assigned)?
Solely in ETABS.
Give the CSi Support platform a go on this as it’s an ETABS issue and not Speckle related Cheers!
