Lately I have been working on generating all Speckle C# classes in Python. This now works for all BuiltElements, including those in the Revit namespace and all Structural classes, except for the Results so far. I made a script that loads the built C# dlls and generates the *.py files from that. As I donāt see a contribution from the community yet, I could show this in 5-10 minutes. Will of course be a dive into the Python code, so will mostly appeal to the (Python) programmers here. Let me know if this would be a good addition for tomorrow.
As an example, see here the generated beam.py module with the Speckle Beam classes:
We can discuss if this could be added to the specklepy package and what the prerequisites would be for that. Although I did just notice that at least the Structural classes have been added to the package already by @izzylys.
hey @Rob, Iād love to see this shown off at the standup! totally cool and Iām super down for chats on how this could be integrated into specklepy. feel free to DM me your availability! maybe we can chat later this week after youāve demoād it for us at standup
Thanks to all 37+ of you for coming, and the feedback! As a reminder, weāre always keen to hear it
As a tl;dr of some of the main issues/enhancements/discussion points that came across (and that I managed to jot down):
Find a way to do mapping between elements, at least on some specific workflows
On this one, weād be keen to see any mapping tables examples you might have, and do share with us specific workflow examples. Weāll try to generalise in a speckle-wide implementation!
Better/friendlier object explorer (in the online 3D viewer)
This is something thatās been bugging us since a while, so weāll make it happen
FME Usecases
@jonathon has an alpha FME connector ready to go - and would be happy to talk shop with some actual FME users - so poke him, or join the discussion in the FME thread!
ArcGIS Support
@Kateryna posted a survey - before we get started on development, it would really help if you fill it up
If you would like us to give a short demo on something, or a quick walkthrough on a specific part of Speckle - let us know by replying in this thread! Weāll do our best to cover your question šāāļø
We are back with the latest and the greatest Speckle 2.6! Join us for an eventful hour where we discuss all the new features, Speckle roadmap, whatās next, demos and last but not least, user feedback!

Thank you to all who showed up this past Wednesday for our 12th Community Standup! Its always great to see and hear feedback from our community members!
Below are the presentation slides for those who couldnāt make it:
Unfortunately I wasnāt able to attend but thanks for the pokemon game, it was a good meditative exercise haha. I had a look through the slides, interesting stuff coming up! I hope to be able to join again next time.
Regarding the ArcGIS Connector (slide Community Standup #13- August 2022 - Google Slides), we have a big project coming up that is interested to connect Speckle with ESRI. They would like to know if they could use the ArcGIS connector in their project so could someone shed light on what the plans are? The time frame? Which element types will be initially supported?
Thanks!
(this shows to join the standups so you donāt miss out on the latest info )
