Archicad to Revit workflow

Hi! I’m looking at a way to optimise our Archicad to Revit workflow as simply as possible.

We create our model in archicad and sometimes need to provide a fully editable, parametric model in Revit. IFC is ok for simple geometrical data, and even classification and data but I’m struggling to make elements editable within Revit. I think this is going to be pretty much impossible with the way families work vs archicad libraries but you never know.

I’m sure there is a way to get some geometry across with grasshopper but interested in other methods, maybe using speckle?!

Hi MSDCA
Struggling with the same topic. Got the best resutlts with ifc2x3 and 4, but only for walls and slabs. Doors and windows are there, but as you explain family vs. gdl. Properties were not imported for doors and windows, at this point of testing, no clue why. Even a stable GUID or door number would be helpful, afterwards you could import the data. With speckle I got the same results as saving archicad as revit, no parametric elements and no attributes on any element. Maybe you’re one step further since march?

Hi @MSDCA @Manuel_Emmenegger I don’t know if you’re aware but have you tried the ArchiCAD plugin for Revit?

it was designed specifically to improve interoperability between AC and Revit and back in the days when I had to deal with this issue, it helped us quite a lot.
