ACC Live Sync fails with "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" on Revit 2025 MEP model

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a consistent failure when trying to set up a Live Sync from Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) to Speckle on a Revit 2025 electrical (MEP) model. Hoping someone can help me diagnose this.

Setup:

  • Integration: ACC → Speckle Live Sync
  • File: rvt Revit 2025 workshared file on acc
  • File size: 1.44GB (YES I KNOW REALLY HEAVY!)

Error message: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”

What I’ve tried:

  1. First attempt: left the View Name empty (as the official docs state it’s optional). Sync failed with the same NullReferenceException.
  2. Second attempt: explicitly set a 3D view as the source, one that shows the full model with all categories visible. Sync failed with the exact same error.
  3. Third attempt: set a different 3D view as the source, this time a much lighter one with very few visible elements (most categories hidden / heavily filtered). Sync failed again with the exact same error.

The fact that the error is identical regardless of view selection — and regardless of how much geometry is visible — makes me think the failure happens before/outside the actual geometry conversion, possibly at a model-level step.

  1. Confirmed the file is properly Published on ACC (not just saved/uploaded).
  2. Confirmed full permissions on the ACC project.

Questions:

  • Is there a way to get a more detailed stack trace or log from the Speckle side to identify what is triggering the null reference?
  • Are there known issues with the ACC connector and Revit MEP/Electrical models that could cause this?
  • Could unresolved Revit links in the host file cause this kind of failure on the server side?
  • Could the model being in a US-region hub (while the workspace is operated from EU) be a factor?
  • Is there any way to inspect what the converter was processing at the moment of failure?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Happy to share Sync ID and Run ID privately with the team if it helps debugging.

Thanks!

Hi @MarcoMolinari,

Thanks for reaching out. We are planning to release an update with a fix within the next few hours that should hopefully resolve your issue. I’ll keep you posted, and you can try again once the update is available.

Cheers :cool_spockle:

Thanks for the quick turnaround! I’ll test as soon as the update is live and report back.

Cheers!

Hey @MarcoMolinari,

can you try to sync again your model. Let us know how it goes!

Fantastic! it’s uploaded!

Thanks!
