Unresponsive or very slow Revit - Host App Error

Hello, I noticed this issue using Revit 2024.3 and latest Speckle Connector for Revit 3.9.0.

Even renaming a view takes a long time, and then I got the following error

Details:

I have since disabled the addin and Revit got back to normal.
also attaching the Speckle Revit log
SpeckleCoreLog20251008.txt (316.3 KB)

Additionally, is it normal behavior to see all my latest projects uploaded to Speckle on the sidebar?

I remember in previous versions, only a Speckle model related to the specific Revit model was shown.

Many, if not all of them, are reporting they are out of date with the application, although I never connected the Revit model to those streams.

Is it trying to evaluate whether all of the streams are out of date?

It gets too cluttered and easy to make mistakes when all streams are available.

Thank you in advance!

Hey @Anastasia,

Thanks for raising this! On the issue of all model card(s) showing and not respecting the open doc; we have a fix for this. We are releasing a new version today. I will ping you once that’s up.

I will keep an eye on the performance regression. However, we believe the two items are linked.

Out of curiosity: which version of the connector did you upgrade from? v3.x.x to v3.9.0? Also, are you in a worksharing environment?

Cheers,
Björn

Hey @bjoern !

thanks for your prompt reply.

I believe it was the 3.8.2, and before that the 3.8.0.

Try upgrading to v3.9.2 which we’ve just released. This should resolve your model card issue

hello, I just did, I think the slowness is gone, but I can still see irrelevant models in the model card.

Not good. Okay, thanks for reporting back so quickly! I will re-open this on my end and see if I can reproduce.

In the meantime, do you mind trying the following:

  • Remove both model cards
  • Publish from the one model, close the model, open the other model
  • See if the model cards refresh appropriately

Hey @Anastasia, we cannot reproduce on our end. Would you mind trying the above and see if that resolves your issue?

Tried the steps and I still get persistent models appearing in the Speckle pane. Is it maybe because they all belong to the same Speckle project?

Basically I am uploading a bunch of models to federate them in Speckle.
They all are linked within each other, various disciplines, various building parts.

It is not very important, but I would like to understand whether it is expected behavior or some kind of bug!

Thank you for your time,
A
