Hi @gokermu,
I am trying to create the material takeoff from revit model information in Power BI using speckle connector.
I am not able to get the specific material takeoff parameters like Material: Area, Material: Volume, Material: Name etc. and hence i am not able to quantify the revit assembly elements like walls, floors, roofs etc. separately.
I’d be happy to help. Did you check this other threads on material quantities?
If these threads don’t help with your specific query, please share as much as possible (Speckle model URL, a sample file) with us, so we can help you better.
I have figured out a work around for this and I am getting the required result also. But I am still not able to get material name out of speckle data.
For the workaround, I need to manually export the Revit schedule to Excel, link the category and Type of the Items with their respective “referencedId,” and then reimport the finalized data into Power BI. (see the Image_01 from the link).
The Image_02(in the above link) is the Power BI schedule prepared from the information received via speckle connector from Revit model.
The Image_03(in the above link) is showing the actual material takeoff in Revit, from which one can easily draw out the similarity.
The material.referencedid under materialQuantities is used for sorting in Power BI, but I am still not able to extract the associated material name from the query.
I am unable to share the model information due to my company’s policy. However, if a sample file is absolutely necessary in this case, I can prepare a separate file to address the issue. Let me know if that would suffice.
