Thanks for highlighting this, and sorry to hear that you were experiencing issues. Were able to view the full model at any point during the day? Is this is an intermittent issue or always affecting you?
Is it affecting other models for you, or is it limited to this example?
I’ve also tested from my machine and like Matteo, it seems to be working successfully for me. I’ve also investigated our monitoring data and cannot spot anything out of the normal at this moment.
Could you please try again and let us know the outcome?
It does stop to load half way through. It happens with any larger models, the small ones load fine. I have made this example just to share but the actual ones I need to open have the same outcome.
Could it be something with my IT blocking the network?
The example model is about 2.3Gb in size in total. The viewer has a built-in timeout of 3 minutes, so if any part of the connection between your computer and Speckle isn’t fast enough it will struggle to complete downloading the required data within that timeout.
The good news is that the partial download of data is stored locally in your browser, so if you press refresh on your browser it will resume downloading from where it left off. This should enable it to eventually succeed.
As it happens we have recently been hard at work improving how browser’s load data for viewing models, and should have some news about improvements to this experience in due course.
It seems to load at different percentages every time which turns out a bit frustrating. Never got past 49%, the internet here seems to be fast enough for anything at 250Mbps download. While trying to search elsewhere it is likely there is something throttling like VPN of firewall. Is there a speckle address I could ask IT to whitelist and test again?
