ACC integration - first impressions, UI bugs all over

Hi, trying out ACC integration for the first time, although getting stuck a few places:

  • adding the integration on ACC according to docs works fine
  • adding integration on Speckle according to docs work fine, although imo the menus are hidden a bit. If I follow docs it works well, but should be so intuitive that i didnt need the docs.
  • The [Add new model] button in my project that can select either “Create New” or “Add from ACC” was there first time i checked.
  • I went to the Add from ACC and I can see the organizations I have access to in ACC.

I get access to the folders on an ACC project but as soon as i dive into subfolders, then the folder names start disappearing:

Also names would be easier to read if we could move/scale this bar:

Then after all this failing, then I F5 to start all over. But now the Add from ACC button is gone!?

Hi @Sonderwoods,

Thanks for the UI/UX feedback, we have been working some of them already. Disappearing subfolders is concerning and looks like Autodesk rate-limited us while you are walking through folders. We will be investigating and optimizing this to prevent this kind of behavior.

Meanwhile to get into actual files and test, perhaps we can have a field to paste a full path. (eventually copy it from ACC url on same folder etc) .

Temporarily, Just to get people onboard to test the actual imports.

To better understanding whether it was rate-limiting or not, do you get the same disappearing folder names if you check today?

Just checked - yes same issue.

I’m on a path like 4-5 levels down into subfolders and all the names disappear after 3-4 levels.

Hey @Sonderwoods,

We have just merged some improvements on rate-limiting, could you test it again once you have a moment?

Also added resize handler between folders and files panes.
